Ronald Henriques
RONALD QUIXANO HENRIQUES was born in 1949 in Wuppertal , Germany where his father was serving with the British Army on the Rhine . Later the family, Ronald and 2 sisters, and his mother who was Dutch, moved to a farm in Surrey , and Ronald found life here very peaceful and quiet and comfy and cosy.
He attended Frensham Heights School ..
The family moved to Kenn , just outside Exeter , in 1972.
In the 80's, Ron really started drawing and painting. He feels that his paintings of that time were particularly vivid because he was in a frightening situation and that when going through a hard time he becomes ultra perceptive. When he is in a more down to earth phase he feels his pictures are less intense. He has never had any art training.
In the late 90's he was given an exhibition by his cousin at her Gallery, THE BARN AT HAY FARM, in the Forest of Dean. And he has just had a show at GALLERY 36.
Many of his paintings are now available as prints.
