I grew up in France, arrived in England in 1990; I graduated in 3D design from Plymouth University in 2005. My main medium is clay however on occasions I have dabbled with metal, wood and leather. I am enjoying a new interest in photography.
My forms are more sculptural than practical. Within my work I am concerned with patterns, repetitions and process. This might show within the form of the pots or, in a more hidden way in the process used to make them. I am also concerned with the recognition and connection with the form. I like the pots to emanate some reminiscence of action of living and of being.
Making within these parameters is generally rather haptic and is very much lead by the medium and my experience of being at the time.
The pots are hand built or slip cast, then glazed.
